Home Shelfie ("we", "us", "our") is a mobile application that helps you track the medications in your household. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over your data.
By using Home Shelfie, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Home Shelfie is developed and operated by Limitless Tech.

You can delete stored photos at any time by editing or removing the medication entry.

We automatically collect:
| Purpose | Data Used |
|---|---|
| Providing the core service (inventory, expiry alerts) | Medication data, household data |
| Scanning and recognizing medication packages | Photos (processed and discarded — see Section 5) |
| Sending expiry notifications | Medication expiry dates, push notification tokens |
| Syncing inventory across household members | Household membership, push notification tokens |
| Securing your account | Email, display name (only if you link an account) |
| Improving the app | Anonymized analytics and crash reports |
| Communicating with you | Email (only if you contact us or link an account) |
We do not use your data for advertising or ad targeting.
We use the following third-party services to operate the app:
We use Firebase for authentication, database, file storage, analytics, crash reporting, cloud functions, and push notifications. Your data is processed and stored on Google's servers.
When you scan a medication, the photo is sent as image data to Google Cloud Vision API for text recognition (OCR). Google processes the image to extract text and returns the result. We do not store your photos on Google's servers beyond the duration of the API call.
The text extracted from your medication photo is sent to Anthropic's API (Claude) to structure it into medication fields (name, dosage, etc.). The text is processed and the structured result is returned. We do not send your photos to Anthropic — only the extracted text.
If you choose to link your account, we use Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In. We receive only your name and email from these providers. We do not receive or store your password.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We will never sell individual user data.
In the future, we may publish aggregated, anonymized insights about medication usage patterns (e.g., common medication categories tracked). Such data will never identify individual users or households.
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at contact@limitlesstech.me. We will respond within 30 days.
Home Shelfie is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
Parents may use the app to manage medications for their household, including medications intended for children. In this case, the parent's account holds the data, not the child's.
When you join a household, all members of that household can see the shared medication inventory. This includes medications you add and any photos you attach. Before joining a household, the app will inform you of this.
If you leave a household, medications you added remain with the household. Your account will no longer have access to that household's data.
Your data may be processed and stored in countries outside your country of residence, including the United States, where our third-party service providers (Google, Anthropic) operate data centers. These transfers are protected by the service providers' data processing agreements and standard contractual clauses where applicable.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by other appropriate means. The "Last updated" date at the top of this policy will be revised accordingly.
Your continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
